Twist and Turn Launches
Good morning, friends! You know how I love a good mathy project and some fun around the world collaboration! So when I got the call to put together a blog for one of my favorite Australian designers, how could I say no?
Twist & Turn Quilts by Cinzia White published by C&T Publishing is landing in stores this month. I have joined with a group of exciting original designers to bring you more ideas on how to meld different designs to make your own original quilt. These innovative designers are showing you a variety of their own circle designs using the latest fabrics to highlight the versatility of Cinzia’s Twist & Turn Quilts.
If you like points and whirling settings, I know you will love this new publication! Cinzia is strongly influenced by her background in math education and traditional quilt making based on geometric designs. Much like me, Cinzia also enjoys working scrappy, so you'll see a lot of color in her work! Exciting right?!
My new Broken Glass Signature line from Island Batik arrived in shops this February and I was delighted when Cinzia wanted to try it out with her new designs. Look at those gorgeous colors! They work so well in this beautiful table runner with the flowing figure eight in the center. The rotation of the inner circle is so much fun and I admit I'm mesmerized by the arrows traversing the shape.
Are you hyped yet?! Did you know you can not only buy Cinzia's book in physical form, but you could also win a copy of the e-book this week?!
I'll be drawing a winner on May 31st at 10am Pacific time, so be sure to read the directions to enter at the bottom of the post.
Why look at designs in more than one color set? The magic of digital mock ups in our current design world is that we can test colors before we cut and even before we buy. This helps us to know exactly what we want to do with a new design and a new pile of fabric.
Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with a stack of the Broken Glass Fabrics, but I truly love this second example Cinzia put together with Broken Glass. The blue background with the orange/gold border and figure eight, just works so well and I feel like the center circles here are floating in space as a result. The arrows stand out to me in a totally different way than in the first example. Magical!
Gorgeous design + gorgeous fabrics = win!
So how to get a copy of Cinzia's book for your very own?
Books are out in stores now and available online! Ask your favorite Local Quilt Shop if they have one or if they can order it for you!
What about that giveaway? It's easy to enter! Visit my Facebook post about this blog hop and comment on which of the two color ways here is your favorite!
